Hydrogen production from natural gas is composed of two parts : natural gas steam conversion to converted gas and pressure swing adsorption ( PSA ) to purify hydrogen ( H2 ). After compression and desulfurization, natural gas is mixed with water vapor, and natural gas is converted into hydrogen ( H2 ), carbon monoxide ( CO ) and carbon dioxide ( CO2 ) at 750 ~ 850 °C under the action of nickel catalyst. The converted gas can be converted into hydrogen ( H2 ) by converting carbon monoxide ( CO ) into hydrogen ( H2 ). Then, the converted gas or the converted gas is subjected to a pressure swing adsorption ( PSA ) process to obtain high-purity hydrogen ( H2 ).
Reaction principle of hydrogen production from natural gas
