The principle of natural gas hydrogen production process is to pretreat natural gas first, and then convert methane and water vapor into carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the conversion furnace. After waste heat recovery, carbon monoxide is converted into carbon dioxide and hydrogen in the conversion tower. The process is based on the natural gas steam conversion technology. In the conversion tower, in the presence of catalyst, the reaction temperature is controlled, and the carbon monoxide and water in the conversion gas react to form hydrogen and carbon dioxide.
The alkane in natural gas will undergo a series of chemical reactions to generate converted gas under appropriate pressure and temperature. The converted gas will undergo heat exchange, condensation and other processes to make the gas pass through the PAS device equipped with a variety of adsorbents under automatic control. After adsorption, impurities such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide are adsorbed by the adsorption tower, and hydrogen is sent to the gas unit to adsorb the adsorbent of the impurity. After desorption, the desorption gas can be sent to the shift furnace as fuel, and the adsorbent is also regenerated.

Natural gas and water react to form carbon monoxide and hydrogen at 800 ~ 900 °C under the condition of nickel oxide catalyst.
The reaction equation is : CH4 + H2O → CO + H2-Q
Carbon monoxide and water react to form carbon dioxide and hydrogen at 300-400 °C under the condition of iron oxide catalyst.
The reaction equation is : CO + H2O → CO2 + H2 + Q
